Should i read or watch Sherlock Holmes?

I'm not certain which film you are talking about, but if you are referencing to the Sherlock Holmes movie with Robert Downey Jr., it's way different from the books. I went to watch that with my grandparents, and they were complaining about how the movie with Downey Jr. was reinventing Holmes for a modern action audience while the books are more aimed at a detective and clue finding side of Holmes. Honestly they were right, the books aren't as action orientated as the recent film, but I personally liked both of them.
