Volvo 850 wont start after power washing the engine\?

1996 volvo 850 wagon, non-turbo, auto. I used a strong power washer and a degreaser to power wash the engine. I spent a good 20 minutes getting all of the grime out but now it wont start. Cranks fast and it random times for a split second it sounds like something jams and then it cranks again, this happens for a split second. I checked all the basics, wires and plugs are dry now and all of the fuses are ok.........help guys?
